DRABBLED IS ABOUT IDEAS
Everyone has good ideas.
But not everyone writes them down.
That's DRABBLED. Share your ideas with us. You might not win the tournament, but really, nobody loses. All drabbles written for the tournament go into our Public Archive. We don't get rid of ideas. With honor and graciousness, we respectfully present them.
Plus, with the help of the DRABBLED editor(s), your story will be neat and tidy. It might even be selected for
inclusion in an anthology.

MORE ON DRABBLING...
The main characteristic of the drabble format is brevity. So be economical. These stories are made to be read in a minute or two, sometimes less--Prose you can piss to.
Although short in length, much can be explored:
an explosive scene;
thought-provoking conundrums;
poetic prose;
all dialogue;
monologue;
abstract fantasies;
fairy tales;
drinking ballads;
sketch comedy;
dreamwork;
lit-pornography;
dialects;
dialectics;
micro-epics;
drama;
romance;
mysteries;
ghost stories;
pulp;
Lynchian nightmares;
isolated incidents;
monstrous moments;
etc,
etc,
and so on
and so forth.
Drabbles sort of level the playing field—people who aren't necessarily writers, but love writing, or just want to tell a story and join the fun, can mix with everyone else.
We've had professional authors, academics,
amateurs, students and first-timers...

HOW DOES THE TOURNAMENT WORK?
Anyone and everyone can submit a story under a pseudonym/pen name. The stories will be sent back with editing suggestions. Make your changes (if you'd like—you have final say), then send the finalized story back. It will be posted on the website for competition in
the Current Tournament page.
All stories must be submitted by the deadline specified in the Tournament Page
(and plenty of other places on the site).
Readers, writers, and the DRABBLED editors will vote on the stories.
On the final day of the tournament-month,
the winners will be announced.
All voting, reading and posting is done digitally through this website.
